It's necessary to jack up the lower control arm to be able to compress the spring enough to get the ball joints connected via the wheel hub. Trouble is, with no weight on the frame, the frame wants to lift. I decided to use ratchet straps underneath the jack and over the frame to allow the jack to push against itself and thus raise the control arm. It's key to have the jack and the the control arm and straps all in line so that the forces are all direct and not at angles to one another or else something is liable to move on you. So here the jack is directly under both wheels and is pushing as close to the outside of the control arm as possible for maximum leverage.
